Large Music Money Frog Croaking Sound Instrument Tone Block

The Wood Frogs have gained enormous popularity over the last few years. Children particularly love the authentic “ribbit” sound which is created by scratching the wooden stick on the frogā€™s back. This sound effect is not only great fun; it is also useful in a musical setting with other instruments. The size makes it easy for children to hold while they create interesting and exciting rhythms. This size frog guiro is large enough to be safe for younger children and strong enough to hold up to the rough handling of children. A great toy for children and adults of all ages! Anyone can play it the first time they pick it up. With a little practice you can more closely mimic the sounds of a happy frog.

  • Fun percussion toy – use as a guiro, rasp, or high pitch tone block
  • Large size – Creates a realistic frog ribbit or croaking sound!
  • Can be used as a Incense Oil Dispenser ā€“ Just drop your favourite oil inside
  • Carved from a solid piece of wood for best sound
  • This size is large enough to create a realistic ribbit-like sound, like a croaking frog, when played correctly. It is also a low-range pitch as a wood tone block.

Available in a variety of sizes, from the tiny mini frog’s right up to the jumbo models. Play them together and you can hear a sound like a pond filled with frogs. The larger the frog, the deeper the croaking ribbit noise.

To play it set it in your palm with the front of the frog facing towards you and gently run the thicker end of the stick over the ridges up the back of the frog from the rear to the front. You can change the sound by covering and uncovering the holes by his mouth. Or lightly tap the nose of the frog with a thick end of the striker to get a resonating note as a wood tone block. Using the larger end of the beater gives a louder and stronger sound. Store the stick in the frog’s mouth.

These music frogs are one of the most common percussion instruments through Thailand where they are made by skilled members of the Northern hill tribes. Thai people believe that the croaking sound of this instrument brings peace and relaxation.
